The Experts in Systems Leadership

Systems Leadership (SL) is an integrated set of principles, models and tools developed by Macdonald Associates Consultancy (MAC) – an international consultancy group. It is designed to assist leaders in organisations create the conditions which encourage people to work willingly and productively to their potential.

SL has been developed, tested and refined in practical application in a wide range of organisations (in the commercial, public and not-for-profit sectors) across many countries and cultures since the early 1980s. It is currently being used on five continents.

Many organisations put much effort into Commercial and Technical processes (which are relatively easy to measure and copy) – and little into the Social process (much harder to implement, measure and copy). While most organisations focus on their technical expertise and their commercial/financial sustainability, few organisations put as much rigour and effort into understanding and training people in Social Process (e.g. how people interact with other people, the impact structure and systems have on behaviour and the valuing process in organisations etc).

Through an association of highly capable, experienced consultants we work in partnership with the leadership of organisations often over many years to build effective, positive organisations through work on teams and leaders, authority and accountability, systems, structure, capability, work complexity, task assignment, values and culture, and symbols.
